When I was young and would dream about being married someday and having kids. I would always imagine myself making amazing treats for my kids and their friends, so in high school I started my search for the perfect cookie recipe. It wasn’t until college that I found what I was searching for at a potluck. Luckily she was willing to share her recipe and I have made these over and over. Today I decided to add a little fun and added M&M’s. If you just want chocolate chips take the M&M’s out and put 4 C Chocolate chips in. Enjoy!
The key to delicious cookies is beating the sugars until very smooth.
Chocolate Chip/M&M Cookie Recipe
2 C Brown Sugar
1 1/2 C Sugar
1 lb Real Butter (used margarine and the kids didn’t notice)
2 Tbs Vanilla
1 1/2 Tbs Baking Soda
1 1/2 Tbs Salt
6 C Flour
2 C Guittard Milk Chocolate Baking Chips
2 C M&M’s
Preheat Oven 350. Beat sugars until smooth – Very important! Add butter, cream together well. Add eggs and vanilla, mix. Add dry ingredients (dough will be stiff). Add chocolate chips & M&M’s. Spoon onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 for 8-10 minutes. No longer! Cookies will be doughy when you take them out. Let cool for about 10 minutes on the cookie sheet before transferring to a plate or cooling rack.
The dough should be stiff. Add more flour if needed.
This recipe is huge! You can cut in half or freeze part of the dough to cook later…if you don’t eat it first:)
